Does the Tesla executive board loudly beep at you when everyone's asleep at the wheel? I think we're at the point where they have to consider cordoning off the Twitter dumpster fire.

@cafkafk I intend to β€” unless, of course, Tesla goes bust and one of the botched updates bricks the car or something. :)

@dirkhh since there is no set meaning of "several," technically it hasn't lied to you since 08:05.

Why is Google Groups "Collaborative Inbox" *SO BAD*? It feels like a summer intern project that was abandoned 10 years ago.

@LWN Today I realized that there's more than one person named "Dave Miller" and this particular Dave Miller (justdave) is not the same as David S. Miller (davem).

I did a lot of tweaking and then a lot of untweaking to social.k.o database and elixir backends this morning. Hopefully, this had a net positive result -- many queries are a lot faster now.

Sorry if you had a rough ride in the past few hours. #meta

Apparently, running some of the "database maintenance tasks" can seriously peg pleroma's database backend. I think I managed to fix most of the problems that caused. Sorry if you've been getting 500 errors.

@captainepoch well, something like 60% of all Canadians are either immigrants or children of immigrants. :)

@captainepoch how pedantic do you want? :)

"wrote something bad" β€” you probably want "wrote something wrong," otherwise you're saying you wrote something naughty or morally objectionable.

"Incorrect" should really be "incorrectly", but both are common in daily usage now.

Otherwise, you're doing pretty well. English is also not my native language, but I've been speaking it as my first language for most of my life now.

@luis_in_brief what are "tweets"? :)

I don't think switching from Mastodon to Akkoma is a sane suggestion to make, unfortunately. It's really more of a "replace Debian with Alpine" kind of action.

@luis_in_brief this won't help you, so I'm just mentioning this as an aside in case some else comes across this and finds useful. :)

Akkoma.social has a concept of "bubbles" where you can add the public timeline of another instance to be sourced into your local "bubble" β€” so hopefully this concept will be implemented in other fediverse software at some point as well.

I didn't end up releasing b4-0.11 today, since I ended up rewriting some hurky code in it and it needs to go for another round of testing.

Hopefully, 0.11 will be out on Tuesday.
