@jperlow my wife designs toy patterns and her most frequent customer question is why most of her designs don't come with pants or at least with underwear. So, I completely believe this story is genuine.

I've decided to migrate social.k.o to Akkoma (a fork of Pleroma). There will be some visual changes to the site, but any of the apps that are currently working for you should continue to work just fine.

The tentative migration date is Monday, Jan 30.

There will be a quick downtime on social.k.o due to me poking at the backend to increase some timeouts.

@conor d'oh. You should complain sooner next time, because I was unaware of this. :) Let me see what I can do.

@conor is it not working for you? Which app/frontend do you use? I very rarely encounter a 500 error.

@brauner Yes, b4 doesn't yet do multi-series. I want to get simple cases right first, and then we can start playing with series dependencies.

Me: I feel like sitting on the couch to do work this morning, let me just grab my laptop.

flatpak-system-helper: here, let me warm your lap for you.

flatpak-system-helper, 15 minutes later: hope you didn't need 20% of your battery for anything else.

@brauner I think it already does that, no? Any addresses we find in individual patches and not in the cover letter list will only get the cover letter plus that patch, not the whole series.

Guys, we've tried fascism before. It doesn't work any better than liberal democracy and when it fails, it fails really really badly.

@conor pleroma's db scheme is not very good. I think I need to upgrade the instance or increase the query timeouts.

b4 0.12.0 is available

Everyone using "b4 send" must upgrade to stop hitting Python email module bugs.

@jwildeboer I think we'll quickly find that the only thing harder than picking a license for your software is picking a TLD for your license. ;)

@jwildeboer I believe doing something like this is prohibitively expensive.

Sure, I guess I'm not doing anything important next week. Can't be that hard.

@_hic_haec_hoc I'm not sure of anything any more. Kids these days should just get off my lawn and let me drink my prune juice in peace.

@andyprice every sysadmin's nightmare. :)

"What do you mean, 20GB used? I ran `du -sh` and it says 600MB!"

This program is brought to you by Dunning Krueger cigarettes.

Hello, friend. Have you ever felt like you have a basic understanding of how something works, but want to speak about it with that unmistakable air of authority? Well, just light up a Dunning-Krueger and watch the room fall into rapt silence as they listen to you speak on topics you know little to nothing about.

Dunning-Kruger cigarettes. Light up the room with the glow of authority.

@jbowen Slightly more than that, but not anything beyond setting a few headers that happen to be longer than 75 characters.
