If you have a kernel.org account, you can set your webfinger by using:

ssh git@gitolite.kernel.org social set @your@social.example.foo

This will let people find your fediverse account by searching for “@yourusername@kernel.org“.

Use “social help“ to see other commands.

Proper documentation forthcoming and will be on korg.docs.kernel.org once done.

Another webfinger test. I typed '@ wagi @ kernel.org' below:

@wagi

It should have been replaced with the proper destination.

Got basic webfinger magic working -- with manually entered data for now. For example, try searching in your instance for: @mricon@kernel.org, @olof, @kees.

They should all resolve to their respective fediverse instances (and I wonder if it will do the right thing from this status post as well?).

The character limit for posts on this instance is now set at 31337. Because "threads" are stupid and make you Talk. Like. Captain. Kirk.

Just write your thoughts.

Content-transfer-encoding was a terrible hack from the 90s. It has no reason to exist today and all systems still using anything but 8bit should be burned. I will personally dance on their graves.

The masto4 mobile interface is kinda wasteful, no? I don't need the top bar and I definitely don't need the side bar. Bad UI decisions, imo.

The neat thing about toot is that you don't really have to run a full a full TUI just to post a thought. You can just `toot post` and type away.

Oh, nice btop is finally in Fedora. If you haven't tried btop yet, I recommend it!

Speaking of fediverse clients -- if you like to stay within the terminal, you can always use toot (https://github.com/ihabunek/toot).

I'm still bummed about Husky. 😭 I hope someone picks it up and continues work on it. #huskyapp

All restarts and reboots are done and everything is running in enforcing mode. If you notice anything that's not working correctly, please report. #selinux

I have riscv envy -- I should have called "b4" "biv". It would have certainly made it easier to track mentions on lore, as "b4" matches all the hex dumps.

FYI: this instance may get a bit unstable in the next few hours as I'm going to turn the pleroma selinux policy into enforcing mode. There should be no lasting outages, but you may see an occasional availability blip.

Another good option that works well for me is to just use the Hermit app and to set up your pleroma instance as a lite app. The UI looks great (and you can filter your timelines), but you don't get notifications. Though this may be a bonus, actually.

Unfortunately, I just found out that the upstream developer of Husky doesn't have time to continue working on the app, so please consider using either Tusky or Fedilab.
