I know you're curious, but "toilet paper roll under seat" is just a clickbait article. Its a "life hack" but not for you -- it's for people who want you to click on junky ads.

(That said, if you go into a public bathroom and find a toilet paper roll under the seat like that, it probably means that there is no toilet paper in that stall. It's a fact that you really want to know ahead of time, so give proper mental thanks to the thoughtful person who set that up.)

I had to verify it, but it's indeed a random ad that just happens to be a poignant commentary.

b4 am --check <msgid>

Initial implementation. The goal was to show a quick summary without outputting a wall of obtuse text.

My kid: "Why is English so messed up?"
Me: "Because it's actually an Atlantic islander pidgin, first influenced by Germanic and then French-speaking colonists."

More than 100 missiles and drones sent by Hezbollah and Iran are hammering down on Israel tonight.

Imagine how different our world would have been, if the US and the EU had stopped Russia in Ukraine in 2022.

We showed weakness, and now every insane dictator wants to rule the world.

This is not the way.

Once you learn about trypophobia, you can't unsee things.

Looking at you, most high-end smartphones with 4+ lenses.

Initial checkpatch support landed in b4 prep.

This is not yet complete, but testing and feedback is always welcome!

This is where we are:

Picture 1: Ukraine is burning because of the lack of air defence deliveries.

Picture 2: Mike Johnson has not found room to schedule a vote on Ukraine aid, but has instead scheduled a vote on preventing the US government from requiring household dishwashers to use less energy.

At least my proctologist doesn't send me "enjoy your colonoscopy" emails.

If you're on the opposite side of the planet to the eclipse then you can look straight down and see a double eclipse

30% Yes
70% No, I'm an old lady from Eastern Europe

My first computer monitor had:
19% A clip-on polarized glass screen to catch "bad electrons"
4% A cactus on top of it to soak up "bad radiation"
5% A doily
9% All of the above
61% Sorry, I didn't grow up in Eastern Europe, so I have no idea what this poll is about

What did the "Turbo" button do on the 90's PCs?

Wrong answers only.

I would like to publicly curse the person who recommended that I try the Sim Settlements 2 mod for FO4.

You suck. I should have never met you.

Also, I do *not* have a problem and can stop any time I want to. Which is usually way too late at night.

I like that post-space-travel quote by Shatner as much as the next guy, but I find it goes too far when contrasting the "deadly space" with "life-nurturing Earth."

Earth is where things are constantly trying to kill you. Space is where things kill you without even trying.

I've been admining Linux systems for 25 years, and I still have to check which one it is every time.
