We had a fruitful discussion about mail hosting options on the users list, so I documented it here:

https://korg.docs.kernel.org/email-hosting.html

Might be useful to others.

For the record, Clair Obscur with a dual sense PS controller just works "out of the box" under Bazzite.

Heh, I think someone tried to scam me by pretending to be from TD Canada Trust and claiming to verify a line of credit application. However, the "agent" insisted on only speaking Russian with me, even after I pretended that I don't speak it very well (it was very sus already, but some banks do have Russian-speaking support agents).

Anyway, checking my credit monitoring services shows no inquiries about any lines of credit and my credit is still locked with the usual Canadian agencies. I'm a little unnerved, but I think it was just a drive-by cold attempt without even really trying very hard.

You... You want me to rate the "phone" app? Really? "One star, forces me use my facemeat to send messages."

The Open Source Summit North America is in May this year, in the lovely Minneapolis, where nothing is happening. Nosiree, nothing that would want a bunch of people think twice about attending.

Hopefully, you have no idea why that graphic made me cringe.

Ryabitsev: Tracking kernel development with korgalore

TLDR: use korgalore to bypass mailing list delivery problems

If you're a Gmail or Outlook user and you're subscribed to high-volume mailing lists, you're probably routinely missing mail. Korgalore is a tool that monitors mailing lists via lore.kernel.org and can import mail directly into your inbox so you don't miss any of it. You can also couple korgalore with lei for powerful filtering features that can reduce the firehose to what you'd actually find useful.

I could think of a better illustration if I tried. πŸ˜‚

You can get a 100% compliance score, but it will all just be wasted effort if Gmail Just Doesn't Like You.

Ask your cloud provider if their datacentres have anti-drone defences and if they have sufficient redundancy to quickly handle and repair high-precision strikes on their power and cooling infrastructure.

Worth just for the looks they will give you.

Night slips into morning in Ukraine to the sound of air-raid sirens and explosions.
Darkness. Cold. Electricity, heating, water β€” no longer guaranteed.

This is happening in Europe.
And it only feels distant until you imagine this map with your country on it.

UK Member of Parliament Ed Davey does not mince words when characterizing Trump after his move to take Greenland.

Thanks for the tip @hadon.

The Google alert I have for "kernel.org" in the news is becoming less and less useful as the web is now knee-deep in slop articles regurgitated for clicks.

However, I was amused by the illustration on this one. Sure, this is that social.kernel.org looks like. A whole stack of blades in a half-rack. Not, you know, something as banal as a t3.large.

Also, you know, that's exactly how you arrange racks in your datacentre. Just stick a random half-rack in the middle of the floor, blowing exhaust down your cold aisle.

Star Trek Academy is basically Harry Potter in space. They even have a Harry Potter music score.

The worst part about bazzite so far is how hard it is to install Fallout mods. Got MO2 working, but can't yet figure out how to scale the interface to 200% so it's actually legible on the 4K screen, or how to pass nexus URLs to it from Firefox.
