Probably some RISC-V stuff, but hopefully other things too ;)
@vathpela @TheWarOnCars maybe less progress than I thought -- there were 7 illegally parked cars today, and when I called the police the guy said he didn't even want descriptions because he was sure they'd be gone by the time the police got there.

@vathpela @TheWarOnCars ya, clearly vandalism is the way to get stuff done in San Carlos ;)

@TheWarOnCars so that seems to be the way to go around here: after calling the police to report the cars for at least the third time last night, the lady on the phone asked if there was anything else. So rather than just saying "no" like the last times, I said "hey, I don't mind just smashing the cars up for you -- no reason to make you guys drive all the way down here, it's pretty easy to just knock some mirrors off". She seemed pretty shocked, but I guess that was enough to get them to come down and ticket these guys!

@TheWarOnCars so I guess we have a partial success: the first guy seems to have had his mirror smashed off, so he (and his neighbor) have stopped parking on the sidewalk. Unfortunately the guy a bit down the street didn't get the message, and one of his neighbors has also started parking on the sidewalk.

Linux is now a CNA: http://www.kroah.com/log/blog/2024/02/13/linux-is-a-cna/

This has taken a long time, I'd like to thank all the groups that helped, and especially the CVE group themselves. Our application was a bit different than other groups, but they understood that this is important for security overall.

One-line fix, you say? Meh. Here's a zero-line fix!

@TheWarOnCars and now that whole side of the street has started parking on the sidewalk. I guess the figure if one guy can get away with it, then just go for it?

@itaru I'm not actually sure what it's called, I just press Fn+H and that makes it stop throttling so hard.

Wondering if that might be something the development community could use to motivate a few people to improve the 's docs:

"'"Google Season of Docs provides direct grants to open source projects to improve their documentation and gives professional technical writers an opportunity to gain experience in open source."'"

When I got started with Linux kernel debugging, one of the most opaque topics was core dumps. What's inside them? What formats are there? How do they get created? How can you fix them if they're broken?

I've learned a lot over the past several years, and I wrote a guide based on my experience. It's a very long article, and surely not complete. I hope if you're interested in kernel debugging, you might read it and find it useful!

@paulmckrcu @TheWarOnCars ya, I guess I could put some big wheels on the jack and just drag it around everywhere I go...

@TheWarOnCars Sometimes I feel like people are just being assholes because they can, it kind of drives me crazy because I don't really know what to do...

@alatiera @pid_eins assuming it's like the last few years: the devroom managers have to approve the video cut points and then the videos have to transcode, but after that they'll show up on the website in various places. Sometimes that takes a day or two.

@oleksandr ya, makes sense -- I've got ton of other stuff stuck to the back, so I guess I forgot some people don't...

For the actual 3D printing stuff, I just use TinkerCAD. That's about as much CAD as I actually need ;)

At the risk of spoiling next week's "quote of the week": @monsieuricon 's post on why projects like the kernel and Git continue working over email is definitely worth a read.

@oleksandr not really a direct answer, but I've got a C925e and it has one of those standard tripod threads on the mount. So I just stuck a small tripod head adapter to the back of my monitor with double-sided tape.
