Hacking device trees is less fun than it should be. Various checks require packages not in Debian; they are in pip3, but they don't work.

@louis @zyd I don't believe patents are the problem. Missing documentation from chip vendors, chip vendors not caring about small manufacturers, and the fact that pretty much everything has to work for an usable phone. It is just a lot of work.

@ptesarik @jbzfn @Reuters Working well with unmodified mainline kernel is unlikely for random phone from the news. The list of such devices is rather short... "Booting with serial support" would be longer list, but.. :-).

@fell gitlab, tui repository, tmouse.py, you'll need to modify to suit your configuration but you should not need to write it from scratch :-).

@fell Well, if you emulate mouse using touchscreen on the whole system (been there, done that), then everything will work, including system emulators :-).

#pinephone: Missing anx7688 driver in mainline seems to be responsible for both no charging and no video. That should be first step towards something usable...

@airtower Just send the patch. (And cc me :-) ). You can thank them in changelog, or something, for now... First version is quite unlikely to be merged, so there'll be plenty of time to fix tags later.
