@as400 Well, sometimes single-thread performance is useful. emacs, or flightgear :-). I would love software to be written in a way that low power cores are enough, but, well, some programmers (including me) are (sometimes) lazy, and that's where single-cpu power is nice.

Dlouhodoba predpoved: Zlutak predpovida, ze prichazi jaro. Vcera zacal linat... A dneska se k predpovedi pridal Irwing, takze to mame potvrzeno od dalsiho experta v oboru :-).

@ozzelot I do have stand-alone li-ion chargers... or you can simply supply 4.2V, 100mA to the battery. Software will likely be more fun.

Actually, which one do you have? I have firefoxOS "flame", but no battery.

@ozzelot I'd like small phone, too. There's FirefoxOS device with cca 120g (Geeksphone?) that's reasonably small, but I feel availability may be kind of bad. Oh and it runs 3.0 kernel.

Projizdim kolem Novy Paky a snehu ubyva... tady by to na bezky jeste asi bylo, ale uz jen tesne. Myslim ze tuhle zimu si zlutak tahani bezek nezopakuje :-(.

@thibaultamartin Another advantage was that Palms were simple. You could run Palm software on Pi Pico, Esp32 and similar stuff. These days, Espruino / Bangle.js2 may be targetting similar devices... and I see value in that.

@bart Well, software development is hard. Hardware is hard as well. Some people buy cheap hardware and do the development themselves. That's PinePhone, and that's ok. Some people want to sponsor development, so buy from Purism. That's also okay. Of course software developers won't agree with each other _how exactly_ to do the development :-). But mainline Gnome is slowly getting phone support, and so is KDE (AFAICT), so things are moving in right direction.
