Riding horses, hacking computers, phones and smartwatch.
@gudenau @dcz Is that those "power button with fingerprint sensor" thingies? I guess we'll first want the fingerprint stuff working, but yes, that could be useful.

@dcz @gudenau Yeah, except that's focus, not optical zoom. But I guess we'll need something on touchscreen. I suggest taking focus/exposure on press, and taking photo on release.

@cas @usia Imx371 seems to support only 10bit bayer. (Thanks for pointers!). Ok, that should be improvement over Librem 5. I guess next step is configuring Megapixels and trying to get some real images from it.

@linmob @lupyuen Yeah, new pebble seems to be bangle.js2, started from scratch, with 3 buttons instead of 1 :-). Maybe they can get some headstart by just using b.js2 hardware, or maybe software, too? :-)

@usia @cas Nice :-(. Can you get me some metadata? Which sensor works, resolution, what format does it use? (BGGR8? BGGR10? Something better?) I am using Librem 5, but that only has 8-bit bayer working (and many other problems).

So everyone is taking pictures with #oneplus6 #mobilelinux #postmarketos . Can you get me some metadata? Which sensor works, resolution, what format does it use? (BGGR8? BGGR10? Something better?) I am using Librem 5, but that only has 8-bit bayer working (and many other problems).

@hrw @penguin42 Is there modern / free software clone of that / documentation / youtube demo? I have FreeDOS here, but it can't really do multiple consoles, which makes it pretty hard to use for me.

@deshipu Overhead. Plan 9 was based on your idea, IIRC. And you can have that today, with mount --bind, chroot, namespaces and similar technology. As most Unix machines are single-user anyway, these days, it does not matter much.

@ozzelot @weirdtreething @fell @cas Apple does that, apparently you get really cool pictures of moon that way. Megapixels is not yet there, I'll put it on the todo list :-)

@jeffjarvis Hmm. One last flight out of Trump's kingdom may be safe enough. Or you can take train and boat :-).

@fell @weirdtreething @cas You probably have 100s of pixels with various levels of "broken". That's cameras, I'm afraid.

@marcan I used to hate PCs. They are misdesigned and boring. But every single ARM machine is e-waste or quickly becoming one, while PC-compatible 386sx is still fun machine today. PC world is doing stuff right :-(.

@monsieuricon Do you know the full story? Hilarious part was that in half of a world, Ivermectin _was_ good idea when you got COVID. Its because half of a world has problem with worms :-(.

@devrtz Hey, what's that small phone in the middle? Samsung with proper keypad? I would love to run FOSS on something that small...

@nspace Yes, but we kind off know that protections against malicious owner do not really work, right? Plus it is quite evil to prevent owner of hardware from doing whatever he wants with his own hardware.

@nspace Is that an interesting vulnerability? Person with physical access is always able to do such stuff with his hardware... (but maybe not cheaply). Sounds more like a feature :-).
