Riding horses, hacking computers, phones and smartwatch.

@WiteWulf Well, if you want more scary stuff... cut SSD power during write operation. It is quite hard to get FTL right, and I'm pretty sure some vendors simply don't. Result is... a brick.

@WiteWulf Flash needs periodic scrubbing, that should be well known? And yes, scrubbing is hard to do with power off :-). Retention on flash also depends on temperature when data was stored and storage temperature, if you want more fun :-).

@seshpenguin Aha, so that makes sense. Librem 5 is nice because it has company supporting it, but it is also on the expensive side.

@kornel Well, you can do some crazy stuff. 6502 was quite hostile to C, for example. As are GPUs. You could do 3-state logic, there's no real reason why byte has to have 8 bits, there are other options than two bit complement, and certainly non-C-compatible FPU options. We are quite lucky word is not even crazier than what we have now.

@vitaut Fortunately, in US you'll only have him for 4 years most... And you can go to streets to protest, which may actually be a good idea.

@seshpenguin How does that compare to... PinePhone [Pro], Librem 5, OnePlus 6? I'd guess one of those could be more suitable for you...

@cwebber for the record, communists are as bad as nazis. Talk to someone from eastern block.

@dos Would you have more information / some code? I found https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/Cortex_M4 but... If there's way to upload code there at runtime, that would be fun.

@etchedpixels Well, chatbots are like Quantum physics; everyone knows they exist, half of a world is using them, and noone really knows how they work.

@Daojoan Chatbots are already dangerous. People trust them way too much, and sooner or later someone will ask about his medical condition and trust the result :-(.

@anolandria Your "profile picture" is basically Nazi symbol. Those bastards took over us in 1948, then again by force in 1968. Plenty of dead, and are continuing to kill on Ukraine. Change it.

@mdhughes Well, Internet was 1980-ish and X11 are 1985-ish, so... :-)

@mdhughes "No it was not". Yes, it was. Notice "pre-WWW" in the text.

@mcc Well... Creating "almost correct" code is what humans are very good at, too. Creating "completely correct" code is so expensive that nobody does that. Sorry! :-)

@dzwiedziu @GeePawHill You live in a world.... Don't try to pull me there.

And you may want to learn more about language modeling, it is really quite useful technology. Not too suitable for answering questions, right.

@ozzelot @FirstProgenitor LLMs have some good uses. "Translate this to czech". "Translate this to Javascript". Other stuff is more hit and miss, but I was able to do "I need graphics format which is basically width/height/fourcc"... and I got that. [And if you know format other than .dds that meets the requirements, let me know.]
