@ljs oh… nope, when i say «american food» i mean usa & canada.
@ljs a lot of national cuisines here, some very fine and cooked with love, as anywhere in the world i guess.
but if one does not pay attention (and money) to find those fine places, the general level is way below what's considered a norm in europe, imho.
also, if one doesn't talk fine restaurants and has to cook for oneself, the quality of those ingredients and sugar-packed components is abyssmal.
there, sorry :-/ maybe that's just my impression and i miss europe too much?
