@guerrillarain i think it is way better than having commercial entities as their own totalitarian kingdoms, similarly like you have public parks but also private businesses in a real-world city. this comes from the premise that commercial social media platforms continue to exist despite fediverse, which i think is a fair assumption. it is better than the current situation. it is easy to mix up "existential" and "improvement" in this discussion.
