randahl@mastodon.socialEven if I had a time machine, and even if I could bring this picture back to 2015 — even then, I could not explain to anyone that in the future, a convicted felon would become president of the USA, and he would invite wanted war criminal Vladimir Putin to Alaska to debate the future for our ally Ukraine — WITHOUT Ukraine present.
A few might believe I was from the future, but NO ONE would believe the picture of these two criminals in front of Air Force One was real.

I'm marking two round dates this August.
I left Russia to move to the US in August 1995, 30 years ago this month.
I left the US to move to Canada in August 2005, 20 years ago this month.
In both cases, I only had personal reasons for the move, but looking back it feels like I was fleeing the countries that were slowly spiralling into becoming belligerent fascist dictatorships.

@pdp7 for kernel work, I usually refommend fastmail. Migadu has some outgoing mail throttling that can make it difficult to send large patch series.
