Just for plain interest: why bunch of MS Surface patches are out-of-tree?

I don't know the topic too well really but does not sound on surface (pun not intended) that complicated, does it?

I know some projects who build their own kernel just for the sake of this particular set of kernel patches.

Do you like saying "perkele" a lot?

Want to program Rust in Finnish?

I know you do so:

@laamaa yeah, quite many drum machine plugins have the issue that they scatter the samples around the hard drive. Once you want to move a kit to a different machine you are fucked :-) Not like the prime advertised feature in Redux but it really takes a lot of pain away...

@laamaa and a mixing tool too because tracker has fast and furious microshifts ;-) easy to make peaks not to pile (like q with 1-4 ticks of distance for snare etc.). great stuff

@laamaa and yeah also re-use hack both for phrases and xrni's have the nice feature that you have a single file which contains it all samples, midi and everything. it's super convenient package...

@laamaa i've started to use renoise redux with FL. it's a workflow hack really (for percs) ;-)

favorite thing in it:

1. Slice a sample
2. Render to phrase.

First track coming (finishing up premaster) with these new innovations going to adelic records "kotigoa" compilation: https://adelicrecords.bandcamp.com/

@lkundrak @oleksandr as per security. Also, I think for the sake of security i limit the video driver to be only capture device. A pure producer is least harmful as per security (and simplifies the implementation whole a lot).

@lkundrak @oleksandr hmm... so i keep width and height variable and turn min/max geometry to plain compile-time macros (v4l2-loopback allows to define hard limits at run-time which does not sound like too good idea...)

thanks (i guess) :-)

Should a video driver offer

A. A set of fixed frame sizes.
B. A variable width and height based minimum and maximum geometry.

?

After I turned some health crap on in my iPhone, I realized that I walk at minimum 5km almost every day. Health benefit on not driving a car 🙂 I tend to walk all less than 10km distances.

Good morning! ☕

(Update: This is not a blasphemy mod. It was a product sold by SiliconGraphics in Germany. There is even a spec sheet for the Espressigo. Ask google if you don't believe me)

Having completed its close flyby of Mars, the Hera spacecraft has turned its antenna towards Earth and has been downlinking telemetry, science data and images to ESA’s ESOC mission control centre in Darmstadt, Germany.

The science team is busy processing the images – including astrophysicist, stereoscopist and guitarist Dr. Brian May 🎸

Images will be unveiled during tomorrow's webcast!
