Motto: Gainz for Brainz

"I'm afraid it's way easier to re-hinge a massive door than Lorenzo"

"I don't recall one wholesome interaction with you"

It's crazy how much societal harm Elon has done in the space of a few years. I can count on 1 hand the number of racist posts of that level I've seen on other platforms. On Twitter, it's constant. All day, every day, everywhere you look. Any time there's a catastrophe, he and his brain trust of alt-right dipshits get together to come up with a reason why hiring non-white people is to blame. He's actively poisoned people's minds to the point where they've become completely untethered from reality. All they have left is hate.

@dinozombie yeah, I mean how much is it to ask that people just behave like normal human beings?

I hate this celebrity crap.

The smartest people I know (and working in the core kernel, those people are REALLY smart, unlike me) have absolutely none of that in them.

Linus himself doesn't give a fuck.

And these guys are not better than Linus. So shut the fuck up.

I can at least give hints...

Actually imagine editing your post to add:

"π—˜π——π—œπ—§! Plz stop replying, I no longer care about your anecdata."

Think of just how high of an opinion of yourself you'd need to have to do that. Incredible.

I can think of two others, one who likes to flaunt their great big red hat and an Irish lad who's decided he's the world's greatest security expert and has many anecdata to share with those worthy of his genius.

Just don't fucking behave that way you're not special you're human beings like the rest of us. If you want to be treated like a celeb, go chat to uninformed people over on twitter.

Nothing pisses me off more on fedi than seeing the haughty behaviour of some 'big names' (in tiny niches actually) on here.

There's a certain subset of people who are disgusted if you dare interact with their holiness, speak down to you and generally strut about like fucking peacocks.

Sorry guys this isn't twitter, just fuck off ok?

I might get to the point where I name names on this, so bloody annoying.

You'll notice I don't follow any of them anyway...

@ljs I still do not understand what's the problem with NULL pointers. If you see it, just don't dereference it. It's easy. All that memory safety concept is just a hype.

OK so coming back to how the CEO never has the buck stop with them? CEO of crowdstrike did the same thing at McAfee... πŸ™ƒ

The real wtf about the crowdstrike thing is the lack of testing, the lack of phased rollout and the lack of being able to rollback from a failed update.

Which is all the responsibility of senior staff all the way up to CEO at crowdstrike, all of whom should resign.

But of course they won't, and probably they'll fire some engineers and the guys who set up the total lack of any sensible testing for mission critical kernel mode updates will keep their jobs.

Because that's how it works... 'we're paid more because the buck stops with us' is one of the biggest lies going unfortunately.
