Probably some RISC-V stuff, but hopefully other things too ;)
@zev I’m kind of ashamed to say it, but I have the automatic. It saved me on the shift cable, though, as it just wouldn’t park ;)

@zev FWIW, my shifter cable failed too (though not so bad I got stuck).

@tommythorn that's lucky. We hit a big pile of pot holes, there were three or four cars on the side of the road. The tire shop said 25 cars came in on Monday morning before they shut 101, so I'm just staying off it for a bit ;)

@tommythorn I called for a tow, but I should have just driven because turns out at least one wheel died anyway.

@oleksis @kernellogger @LWN My first guess would be the linker script change that landed, had some issues, and IIRC was reverted/fixed for rc3. There's some discussion LKML, I think the rc2 release thread. Should be pretty easy to backport the fix and check to see.

@codonell at least it's code, I spent all morning fighting the makefiles ;)

@conor Have you done anything with it yet? Mine showed up a few days ago, but I haven't even had time to get it out of the box.

Are you someone who has a simple fix for something in the Linux kernel, but haven't bothered submitting a patch because you find the email workflow daunting? Can be a bugfix, spelling correction, anything at all.

If so, I want to talk to you! I have tools that simplify this process quite a bit, but I need more feedback from people who aren't long-term Linux maintainers.

Please reach out, either via here or by emailing mricon@kernel.org.

@olofj my father just gave me a 2016 GL450 that I don’t have space for and was kind of on the fence about selling, LMK if you want to take a look? It’s huge…

@byterhymer @tommythorn the C910 is in ASICs, I have at least one. Just poke around on the internet.

@conor @pdp7 so you're just asking if there's anything interesting at the conference? In that case no, there's nothing ;)

@conor @pdp7 not sure what the “experience” is, but the RVI stuff is generally not all that technical.

I never thought I’d pay more than the face value for a coin, but I couldn’t believe this was real without seeing one in person.

@marcan yep. IIUC you can program it, but I never bothered (it also doesn't work right with my upside-down Chromebooks). I just went back to a keyboard-controlled KVM, I actually kind of like pushing the buttons ;)

@marcan it switches without buttons, by emulating an absolute input device (from a USB mouse) and then switching when it gets to the edge.

@marcan I bought one of the Belkin auto-switching KVMs (used on ebay), but I don't like it.

I was hoping to post this when we had had next year's venue locked down, but we are still not there yet. Anyway, Thanks for all the krill! https://lpc.events/blog/2022/index.php/2022/12/03/thats-a-wrap-thanks-everyone-for-linux-plumbers-2022/
