@lupyuen ...and if you want esp32 for some reason, take a look at Lilygo T-Watch. Widely available, less than CZK2000 / $80, and very similar. I even have some patches in the firmware... But hard to use due to bad battery life, and #Espruino is really better solution for the software.

@sesivany @codemonkeymike @dottorblaster Yeah, we are talking more like ten year+ timeframe.

@sesivany @codemonkeymike @dottorblaster x86 is misdesigned. ARM less so, RISC-V should be even better. Process improvements stopped -> x86 has no long term chance.

@lupyuen Esp32 means battery life will be poor. If you want "smartwatch that's doing everything right", well, there's no such thing but Bangle.js2 is close.

@dcz I still have original PureOS on L5. I can install rust from web, I guess, and I can also install newer Debian or something.

I'd like to play with debayering, but ...

@dcz Ok. I guess you'll let me know when you'll get it working on Librem 5 or PinePhone? I'll try to replicate your setup at that point.

Thinkpad wakes up on Fn key only. Acer wakes up on anything but Fn key. :-(

@jarkko @vbabka It may be good enough for that with some luck. I actually have 9MB 386sx here. Too bad Linux stopped supporting 386 some time ago :-(.

@jarkko @vbabka I feel 4MB is too little for anything other than busybox these days.

@admin @ljs @vbabka For the record, would you mind explaining which part of my comments do you find objectionable? I believe "no regressions" is a long term kernel rule, and while it may be inconvenient to companies, it is existing policy. I'd prefer that rule to stay.

@kernellogger I'm not sure I like direction this is taking :-(.

@vbabka I'd really like to see picopad emulation. I tried to hack qemu to do that, but it is a lot of work.

@ljs @vbabka Maybe your employer can fork the kernel if that's so unfair? :-(.

@vbabka Linux on Atari 8-bit was not a joke?

@dcz Aha, and kmscube fails, too, and it has no manpage. GPUs are fun :-(.

@dcz Thank you, that's much better. Is there any special setup to be done?

I'm getting permission denied. Running it as root does not fix stuff.

(Is there easy way to force CPU fallback just to test things)?

@martijnbraam Yep, that seems to be identical problem. Fun thing is unplugging the weird device does not fix the problems...
