Try xscreensaver, looks cool.

Go to gym, come back, fans blasting at 100% system locked.

Untry xscreensaver.

Bloody hell, EVERY software product I run is having AI absolutely shoveled into it as versions update.

Adobe, eM Client, Filmora... the list goes on and on. All of them are offering needless "AI enabled" functionality now which no one is asking for and which, in most cases, makes zero sense and doesn't work at all.

I was going to end this post with a link to a very old parody of the Mac "Switch" commercials where the speaker in the ad touts the virtues of an "autoblogger" tool, to keep his occasional readers satisfied. But literally you can't even search for that video anymore because YouTube is page after page of tech bro bullshit results if you try to search "autoblogger" since apparently people are making those in droves now, trying to cash in.

ShittyFuture needs a Fediverse account so we can tag them on things like this, damn.

The amount of LWN traffic that is just AI bots downloading the same stuff over and over again is staggering; it's increasingly hard to see any sort of human signal in there at all. Something is going to give here at some point...

Full time work from home is an enormously wonderful privilege and I am so grateful to be able to do so.

Now my only commute is the one I impose on myself going to the gym and back, but the gainz never sleep.

*Whispers*
Hail gainzan. 🍷

@pavel @vbabka ugh yeah I don't think this is generally acceptable on any level in the UK though given the scandal this caused.

We're rather animal lovers here. Vlasta loves oxen too but this is a different thing

@dougmerritt UK libel law is one of the most easily abused too.

We have had a litany of people who committed very serious criminal offences who got away with it for years in (large) part due to them having very good legal representation and a willingness to aggressively pursue libel cases.

Most notably the appalling monster Jimmy Saville. Russell Brand who ALLEGEDLY committed offences too ALLEGEDLY has very very aggressive legal representation as well.

The UK has no 1st amendment rights, it's a huge problem.

It's almost as if the company has management that (allegedly)* makes very poor decisions or something.
