My interest in bsky is mostly due to my general interest in decentralized platforms and my previous experiments with SSB (secure scuttlebutt), which sadly had some serious implementation flaws. I do not plan migrate anything anywhere or anything like that. :)

@jarkko Well, it's bsky.social that requires an invite, not the underlying AT protocol. In the same way gmail.com required an invite when it was just starting out.

Because the platform is so new and rapidly changing, there aren't very many instances that I'm aware of besides bsky.social itself.

I am now on bsky as @mricon.kernel.social, but mostly as a way to play around with atproto and DID. Thus far, the extent is setting up the necessary bits to have DID work via DNS records (ew).

@django Pretty sure the real answer is "we don't want to make it too easy for people to read about rate increases."

Literally nobody:
less: `Calculating line numbers... (interrupt to abort)`

(Yes, I know about setenv LESS, it's still annoying as heck.)

And I kindly ask you to stop wasting everyone's time and just send me your important message via this same email, instead of forcing me to log in to your site and navigate your confusing mess of dropdown menus.

I have 5 bsky invites if you know someone who wants to get off Twitter and is just not into the Fediverse for some reason. Please ask in a DM.

Death Stranding logic: we need you to deliver 133 kg of high performance underwear to a prepper halfway across the country. Would you like to 3D-print a truck for that?

You know how in Fallout 4 those anti-synth folks make that questionnaire with a bunch of baseball questions? I'm thinking they were onto something because AI is for sure very confused about how you actually play baseball.

The problem with answering email is that people answer back. So, I only got as far as 156 -> 114 today.

Booked my travel to plumbers in November. Really wish there were better options than air travel, especially considering that there are plenty of railroads between Montreal and Richmond, but it's just such a mess in North America.

@drewdevault I'm still really puzzled about how much of this stuff gets sent to git-security. I mean, what is the process by which people find that email address? Do they just search for "hacking security" and then click the links until they find whatever first resembles what they need?

@drewdevault Oh, yeah, that where it was sent. I didn't even notice. I obviously remove personally identifying bits before I repost these things.

@ljs That was going to be my snarky reply, except I came to my senses just in time.
